Sue Ann Goodman, 84, of Centralia, passed away April 26, 2017 at the Centralia Manor. She was born the daughter of Felix and Gladys (Ligon) Drennan on November 20, 1932 in Ina, IL. She married Billy Dean Goodman on Aug. 27, 1950 at her parent’s home in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1994.

Sue is lovingly survived by her son Dennis Goodman, husband Dr. Jerry Stamper of Palm Springs, California; daughters Melody Oglesby, husband Ralph of Centralia and Stacy Murphy, husband Paul of Palatine, IL; cherished grandchildren Ian Goodman, Josh Oglesby, wife Kim, Allison Martinez, husband Brian, Melissa Clanin, husband Jeremy, Olivia Murphy and Tristan Murphy; dearly loved by her 11 great-grandchildren; beloved sister Kay Jenkins of Mt. Vernon; special loved one Mary Jones of Centralia; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to being preceded in death by her devoted husband, Billy; parents Felix and Gladys; sisters Ruth Willis, Elizabeth Peavler, and Milda Matthews; brothers Bill and Bob Drennan; and two infant daughters.

Sue was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church and Seneca Club. She enjoyed playing cards with her girlfriends and getting her hair done every Friday. She was a talented baker, but was most famous for her pies, especially strawberry. Sue was known for sending cards out to friends and family to let them know she was thinking of them. Her most treasured time was being “Granny Sue” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Sue on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Calumet Street Christian Church from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Monday. A funeral service celebrating Sue’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017 with Rev. John Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
