Shirley Ann Murray, 79, of Patoka, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at her home. On April 13, 1938, she was born the daughter of Bill Wilmoth, Sr. and Bessie L. Cummins in Sandoval. She married Alvin Murray on February 10, 1956 at the home of Rev. Wayne Blunt.

Shirley was the devoted wife to Alvin Murray of Patoka; loving mother to Mark Murray, fiancée Sandy Wright of Patoka, Lu Ann Baldridge, husband Mike of Patoka; cherished grandmother to Tara Scrivner, husband Wade, Shaun Murray, wife Casey, Chris Murray, wife Alicia, Jordan Baldridge, wife Danielle, and Drew Baldridge; 10 great-grandchildren; dearly loved by her siblings William “Bill” Wilmoth Jr., wife Joy, Jane Wilkes, Jody Fair, Lucille Dalton, husband George, David Wilmoth, wife Becky; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Frieda Maas, and brothers-in-law Gerald Wilkes and Phillip Fair.

Shirley’s greatest joy was loving the Lord and being an active member of the Sandoval Pentecostal Church. Over the years, she enjoyed crocheting, babysitting grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cooking. She was famous for her chicken and noodles and enjoyed sharing them with her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured the time spent with her family.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Pentecostal Church of Patoka with Pastor Richard French and Reverend Kenny Cripps officiating. Burial will follow at Pratt Cemetery in Patoka. Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the church from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday.
