David L. Croan, 53, passed away at his home in Belleville on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. David was the son of Lester L. and Mary Ellen (Martin) Croan on July 3, 1963 in Irvington, Illinois. He married Stacy R. Lance in Centralia, Illinois on October 21, 2001.

David is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Stacy of Belleville; adoring step-daughter, Brittney Lance; beloved mother, Mary Ellen Croan of Centralia; and cherished sisters, Debra Ann (Donald “Mike) Barrish of Pana, and Janet Kay (Steve) Lavender of Hot Springs, AR.

David was the son of the late Lester L. Croan.

David enjoyed his music, singing, and witnessing to others about God’s love and God’s saving grace. He was very talented in playing drums, guitars, and almost anything that he set out to do. His failing health made him unable to continue to do the things he loved, but never stopped his love, care, or his passion to witness to others about how God saved his life. He was a Christian counselor out of his home for seven years where he touched many people’s lives. David attended the 1st Church of the Nazarene in Belleville.

Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the First Apostolic Church of Centralia with Pastor Johnathan Urshan officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Ashley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. On-line condolences and memories of David may be shared with the family at
